KCR's Daughter Takes "1,000 Mice" Dig At Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra

Hitting out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC K Kavitha on Wednesday said his Bharat Jodo Yatra was like "a cat that killed 1,000 mice going on a pilgrimage".

Ms Kavitha, who spoke at a party meeting in Bhodan, also took a dig at the Congress and said it ruled the country for 62 years, during which the "poor remained poor" despite the party's ''Garibi Hatao' slogan.

This is Ms Kavitha's first visit to Nizamabad Lok Sabha Constituency after she publicly announced that she would be contesting from here in the 2024 General Elections. BRS cadres held a huge rally to welcome her.

"He (Rahul Gandhi) took out a foot-march -- Bharat Jodo Yatra. You know how I feel (about that yatra?) A cat that killed 1,000 mice goes on a pilgrimage. That is how Rahul Gandhiji (acted)," the BRS leader said.

"The Congress Party ruled for 62 years after the country gained independence. What have you done for Muslims? You (the Congress Party) kept on saying 'Garibi Hatao'. What have you done for the poor? You removed poor people, but not poverty," she added.

Mas Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), asked the BRS party cadres to go to every household and mosque in the constituency and meet maulanas (Muslim men who are revered for their religious knowledge) to explain to them why one should not vote for the Congress.

"No one could bring the revolution in Telangana that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been able to usher in the last 10 years in the state. Our minority brothers should think about whether one should vote for the Congress," she said.

She claimed that there has been no development in the country despite the rule of Congress leaders for generations.

According to her, Telangana Muslims are not thinking of anything other than "Car and Sarcar (government)". Car is the poll symbol of the BRS Party.

During the past 10 years under KCR's rule, there has been no communal violence in the state, Ms Kavitha said.

The MLC added that Rahul Gandhi says that the Constitution and democracy are under threat, but the truth is that Telangana has a powerful leader and a powerful democracy, and the Constitution is thriving under the leadership of CM KCR.

Unaware Of What Transpired In Sharad Pawar-Ajit Pawar Meet: Supriya Sule

NCP leader Supriya Sule today said that she is not aware of what transpired in last week's meeting between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar at the home of a Pune businessman.

The meeting between NCP founder Sharad Pawar and his nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on August 12 at businessman Atul Chordiya's residence in the Koregaon Park area had sent political circles abuzz.

Supriya Sule, who represents Baramati in the Lok Sabha, said she was not present in the meeting and has no idea about what happened there.

"Even before my Dada's (Ajit Pawar's) birth, the Pawar and Chordiya families shared a good association as Mr (Atul) Chordiya's father and Pawar Saheb were together in college. So there is nothing to be surprised if both the families meet," said Supriya Sule.

Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole on Tuesday said it was a matter of concern for his party that Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar were meeting "secretly".

Sharad Pawar is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and NCP, while Ajit Pawar split the Nationalist Congress Party last month to join the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena-BJP government.

Speaking about Ajit Pawar's stand, Supriya Sule said difference of opinion does take place and it should be seen as a sign of a healthy democracy.

She said Saroj Patil, wife of late comrade Dr ND Patil, is a sister of Sharad Pawar but both the senior Pawar and ND Patil had stood against each other on several occasions.

"That does not mean that our aunt's love for us has reduced. In our family, personal relations are on one side and political opinions are on the other side," she said.

Despite the differences between "Pawar Saheb and ND Patil", Supriya Sule said, Maharashtra accepted them and both leaders received love.

"A similar situation has once again taken place in the state. If Dada (Ajit Pawar) thinks his political stand is correct, then in a democratic setup, it should be accepted. Our stand might be different from Dada and I do not see it as wrong in a democracy," she said.

Asked about reports claiming that she has received an "offer" from the BJP, Supriya Sule said she has not received anything from anyone.
