आजकल जब भी आप कोई चीज़ खरीदते हैं, कोई Hotel Book करते हैं, कोई Restaurant Book करते है, या कोई गाड़ी खरीदते हैं तो उससे पहले Online Reviews ज़रूर पढ़ते हैं. इन Reviews को पढ़ते हुए धीरे धीरे हमारा भरोसा बढ़ता है और हम इन्हीं Reviews के आधार पर कोई Product खरीद लेते हैं या फिर किसी सर्विस के लिए पैसे दे देते हैं. लेकिन ये युग बेईमानी और मिलावट का युग है और अब Online Reviews में Fake Reviews की मिलावट होने लगी है. अब तमाम कंपनियां, Fake Reviews की मदद से अपनी तिजोरियां भर रही हैं और ये सब कुछ आपके भरोसे की कीमत पर हो रहा है. आज हम आपको बताएंगे कि Internet पर विश्वसनीय मानी जाने वाली E-Commerce Websites पर भी किस तरह Fake Reviews लिखे जाते हैं और आपको किस तरह धोखा दिया जाता है. 

इसके लिए हम London में रहने वाले एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की मदद लेंगे, जिसने सिर्फ एक फोन नंबर और कुछ फर्ज़ी तस्वीरों की मदद से Fake Reviews के इस पूरे खेल को Expose कर दिया. ये एक दिलचस्प कहानी है, जिसे देखकर आप जागरूक बनेंगे और Fake Reviews के जाल में फंसने से बच जाएंगे. लेकिन इससे पहले कुछ ज़रुरी बातें. एक आंकड़े के मुताबिक दुनियाभर में 97 फीसदी लोग, कोई भी सामान खरीदने से पहले, और Hotel या Restaurant में किसी भी तरह की Booking से पहले, Online Reviews पढ़ते हैं. Global Information Measurement Company, Nielsen के आंकड़े कहते हैं, कि दुनियाभर में 66 फीसदी लोग Online Reviews पर आंख बंद करके भरोसा करते हैं. जबकि Asia Pacific में ये आंकड़ा 70 फीसदी लोगों का है.

पिछले वर्ष एक रिपोर्ट आई थी, जिसका नाम था - Asia Pacific Fraud Insights. इससे ये पता चला था कि भारत में हर दूसरा आदमी Online Fraud का शिकार है. रिपोर्ट में कहा गया था, कि भारत के 48 प्रतिशत Online Users, किसी ना किसी रुप में धोखाधड़ी के शिकार हुए हैं. और इसमें Fake Online Reviews भी शामिल हैं. इस रिपोर्ट में भारत सहित एशिया के दस देशों को शामिल किया गया था. ध्यान देने वाली बात ये है, कि Asia Pacific region में इंडोनेशिया के बाद भारत दूसरा ऐसा देश है, जहां सबसे ज़्यादा Digital धोखाधड़ी होती है.

अलग-अलग Reports के मुताबिक Online क्षेत्र में ऐसी कई एजेंसियां सक्रिय हैं, जो किसी सामान या Service को अच्छा या बुरा बताने के लिए Fake Reviews लिखवाती हैं. यानी Fake Reviews लिखने वाले शार्प शूटर ठेके पर रखे जाते हैं और वो किसी कंपनी के पक्ष में या विरोध में Reviews लिखते रहते हैं. जबकि हम और आप जैसे आम लोगों को कभी इस गोलमाल का पता नहीं चलता. और इसके लिए Fake Reviews लिखने वालों को पैसा या अन्य लुभावने Offers दिए जाते हैं.

हाल ही में एक जांच ये में पाया गया था, कि Amazon और Trust Pilot जैसी Websites पर कई ऐसे Reviews थे, जो पूरी तरह से फर्ज़ी थे. और उन Reviews को लिखने वालों को पैसा या फिर उपहार दिए गए थे. हालांकि यहां हम साफ कर दें कि Amazon या Trust Pilot जैसी Websites पर Fake Reviews होने का मतलब ये नहीं है, कि इस धोखाधड़ी में ये Websites भी शामिल हैं. आम तौर पर Fake Reviews का ये पूरा कारोबार वो Vendors करते हैं, जो इन Websites की मदद से अपना सामान बेचते हैं.

अब आपको उस व्यक्ति के बारे में बताते हैं, जिसने Fake Reviews वाले काले बाज़ार की पहली झलक दुनिया को दिखाई है. इस व्यक्ति का नाम है, Oobah Butler, जो एक Freelance Writer हैं. ये व्यक्ति कभी मशहूर Website, Trip Advisor पर Restaurants के लिए Fake Reviews लिखने का काम करता था. एक दिन इस व्यक्ति को लगा, कि क्यों ना एक कदम आगे बढ़कर, एक नकली Restaurant शुरू किया जाए, जिसका असलियत में कोई वजूद ही ना हो. इस व्यक्ति ने सोचा था कि ऐसा करने से Fake Reviews का पूरा कारोबार एक झटके में Expose हो जाएगा. 

इसके लिए इसने अपने घर का इस्तेमाल किया. और एक फर्ज़ी Restaurant बना दिया. इसके बाद इसने एक Website बनाई और उसमें खाने-पीने से जुड़ी कुछ तस्वीरें Post कर दीं. ये तस्वीरें भी फर्ज़ी थीं. इस Website पर Restaurant की खासियतें बताते हुए ये लिखा गया, कि वहां Mood के हिसाब से खाना मिलता है. इसके बाद इस Restaurant को Trip Advisor नामक Website पर Register करवाया गया. और इसके लिए इस आदमी ने अपना ही फोन नंबर दे दिया.

कुछ दिनों के बाद Trip Advisor की तरफ से Restaurant के Registration की सूचना भी आ गई. इसके बाद इस व्यक्ति ने अपने दोस्तों की मदद से इस फर्ज़ी Restaurant के बारे में Fake Reviews लिखने शुरु कर दिए. Restaurant की Website पर ये लिखा गया था, कि वहां पर लोग सिर्फ बुकिंग के ज़रिए ही आ सकते हैं और वो बुकिंग सिर्फ फ़ोन से होगी. शुरुआत में Trip Advisor पर इस Restaurant की Rank, 18 हज़ार 190 थी. लेकिन, Fake Reviews की वजह से ये फर्ज़ी Restaurant लोगों के बीच मशहूर होता चला गया. और इसकी Rank बढ़ती चली गई. 

और देखते ही देखते ये Restaurant 30वें नंबर पर पहुंच गया. जब लोग इस Restaurant में बुकिंग के लिए फोन करते थे, तो हर बार उन्हें Waiting List में डाल दिया जाता था. लोगों को शक न हो, इसके लिए बीच में कुछ Fake Reviews डाल दिए जाते थे. जिनमें लोग ये लिखते थे कि दो हफ्ते के इंतजार के बाद आखिरकार उनका नसीब खुला और उन्हें इस Restaurant में जाने का मौका मिला. इन Fake Reviews को पढ़कर लोगों की दिलचस्पी बढ़ती चली गई. और Trip Advisor पर Register होने के 7 महीने के बाद ये Restaurant, London का नंबर वन Restaurant बन गया. 

लेकिन नकली Restaurant के असली मेहमानों वाली कहानी यहीं ख़त्म नहीं होती. इसके बाद भी बहुत कुछ ऐसा हुआ, जो हैरान कर देने वाला है. और इसके लिए आपको हमारी ये रिपोर्ट देखनी चाहिए. Wion Channel ने Fake Reviews वाले काले बाज़ार का खुलासा करने वाले इस Freelance Writer से बात भी की है. WION ने Amazon, Flipkart और eBay जैसी मशहूर E-Commerce Websites से Fake Reviews को लेकर प्रतिक्रिया मांगी है. इस पर Amazon का एक छोटा सा जवाब आया है. Amazon ने कहा है कि उनकी टीम का कोई सदस्य इस मामले को लेकर संपर्क करेगा. जबकि FlipKart और eBay की तरफ से कोई जवाब नहीं आया है.

प्रशंसा बहुत मीठा शब्द है . तारीफ़ सभी को अच्छी लगती है . अक्सर जब भी किसी Product की तारीफ होती है तो उसे हर कोई खरीदना चाहता है लेकिन आपको ये नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि इस तारीफ में भी मिलावट हो सकती है. अब आपको बताते हैं कि Fake Reviews को पहचानने का तरीका क्या है? Fake Reviews लिखने वाले लोग कभी भी अपने बारे में जानकारी नहीं देते हैं . अक्सर ये देखा जाता है कि जो लोग Fake Reviews देते हैं वो या तो Product को बहुत अच्छा बताते हैं या फिर बहुत ज़्यादा खराब . यानी उनका Review संतुलित नहीं होता. क्योंकि वो Product इस्तेमाल  किए बिना ही Reviews लिखते हैं . इसकी एक वजह ये भी है कि उन्हें किसी Product को अच्छा या बुरा बताने के लिए ही पैसे मिलते हैं, संतुलित और सच्ची बातें लिखने के लिए पैसे नहीं मिलते.

अगर आपको किसी Product पर एक ही समय पर.. बहुत ज़्यादा Reviews दिखाई दें . तो इस बात की आशंका बढ़ जाती है कि ये Reviews फर्जी होंगे. क्योंकि अक्सर कुछ कंपनियां अपने Products की Marketing के लिए Fake Reviews देने वाले लोगों को Hire करती हैं. जिनका मकसद जल्दी से जल्दी Product की Rating बढ़ाना होता है . Fake Reviews में अक्सर सामान्य बातें लिखी होती हैं . Product को लेकर बहुत कम जानकारी दी जाती है . यानी Product के बारे में Details नहीं दिए जाते. ऐसे Reviews किसी भी Product पर Fit किए जा सकते हैं . और ऐसा नहीं लगता है कि ये Reviews, Product इस्तेमाल करने के बाद लिखे गए हैं . 

Fake Reviews लिखने वाले लोग अक्सर बहुत छोटे वाक्यों का इस्तेमाल करते हैं . मनोवैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि सच बोलने की तुलना में झूठ बोलने में ज़्यादा दिमागी ताकत खर्च होती है . इसका असर शब्दावली पर पड़ता है. इसके अलावा Fake Reviews लिखने वाले लोग व्याकरण संबंधी गलतियां करते हैं. कुल मिलाकर Fake Reviews हों या Fake News दोनों ही आपके भरोसे को तोड़ते हैं. और इन दोनों का पता लगाना मुश्किल होता है.

Fake antifa posts reportedly tricked police into massive show of force for neo-Nazi rally – ThinkProgress

One of the big questions hanging over last month’s neo-Nazi rally in the small town of Newnan, Georgia centers on the outsized police presence that showed up to keep tabs on the event.

Why did hundreds of heavily armed police — numbering some 700, according to an estimate from Slate — show up in force for a paltry turnout of a few dozen white supremacists, going so far as to swing their guns at counter-protesters? Why did police act like they expected thousands more people, who could potentially incite violence, to arrive?

Thanks to a public records request, we may finally have an answer — and one that doesn’t reflect well on local authorities.

Emails obtained by Unicorn Riot  —  a self-described “decentralized… non-profit media organization” — revealed that officials from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office shared a Facebook post with one another in the lead-up to the rally claiming that counter-protesters in Newnan had dotted the city with stockpiles of “urine, feces, cans of peper spray or wasp spray, [and] ball bats,” among other weapons.

The post estimated that upwards of 13,000 white supremacists and counter-protests may show up, and claimed that people “will be targeted if [they] wear any clothing supporting trump [sic], America, or anything that leans to the right.”

Lieutenant Colonel Tony Grant, who forwarded the Facebook post to the rest of the higher-ups at the Coweta County Sheriff department, wrote, “Don’t guess these folks have heard of TEAM COWETA!!!!!”

There was one major problem, though: The Facebook post the Coweta County Sheriff’s officers shared with one another appears not to be from any reputable information source, but from the Facebook account of Clay Perry, a self-described “patriot” who said he’s “read [antifa] propaganda for a while now.”

One commenter on Perry’s wrote, “Left alone the Nazis would march right through town and out the other side. Antifa will bring the violence.” Added another who shared the post, “George Soros invading Newnan, Ga!!”

However, a stray Facebook post from a self-described “patriot” doesn’t appear to be the only bit of social media flotsam that informed local authorities’ massive security presence. Unicorn Riot pointed to another Facebook post shared by the city from an account called Valdosta Antifa. The post pledged that 10,000 antifa activists would show up at the rally — there to erect “status of Pauly Shore” and “to turn the fricken [sic] frogs gay.”

The post, as it is, is clearly satirical. (As the post closed, “You know, Valdosta Antifa is really just three kids in a trench coat and fake mustache right?”) It is unclear why the city cited the post in a request for information about security preparations.

Newnan Police Chief Douglas “Buster” Meadows did not return ThinkProgress’ request for comment.

Fake antifa posts have, of course, fooled others. But the local officials tasked with keeping Newnan safe appear to be the first police and security officers so clearly fooled by fake antifa material, and to have that fake material inform their own security decisions.
