पिछले हफ़्ते North Korea और South Korea ने अपनी 68 साल पुरानी दुश्मनी को भूलकर एक दूसरे से हाथ मिलाया था. अब करीब एक हफ़्ते बाद इन दोनों देशों ने अपनी घड़ियां मिला ली हैं. North Korea और South Korea के रिश्तों वाली घड़ी 68 वर्षों से रुकी हुई थी. लेकिन, अब वक़्त बदल गया है. दीवार पर टंगी दो घड़ियों की ये तस्वीर 29 अप्रैल 2018 की है. ये उसी Peace House की तस्वीर है, जहां North Korea के सुप्रीम लीडर किम जोंग उन और South Korea के राष्ट्रपति Moon Jae-in की मुलाकात हुई थी. अगर आप दोनों घड़ियों को ध्यान से देखेंगे, तो ये पाएंगे, कि दोनों के समय में आधे घंटे का अंतर है. 

बांई तरफ की घड़ी South Korea के मुताबिक 11 बजकर 45 मिनट का समय दिखा रही है. जबकि दांई तरफ की घड़ी में North Korea के मुताबिक 11 बजकर 15 मिनट का समय दिख रहा है. अब आधे घंटे के इस फर्क की वजह को समझिए. किम जोंग उन.. ने वर्ष 2015 में Pyongyang Time बनाया था. इसके तहत North Korea ने अपना मानक समय South Korea से 30 मिनट पीछे कर लिया था. यानी पिछले 3 वर्षों से North Korea का समय South Korea से आधे घंटे पीछे चल रहा था. 

किम जोंग उन.. ने ये फैसला इसलिए लिया था, क्योंकि उपनिवेश काल से पहले North Korea का यही Time Zone, हुआ करता था. सन 1910 से लेकर 1945 तक North Korea पर जापान का शासन था. और उस वक्त जापान ने North Korea के Time को Tokyo के बराबर करने के लिए उसे आधा घंटा आगे कर दिया था. वर्ष 1945 में जापान के अधिकार क्षेत्र से बाहर आने के बावजूद, North Korea का Time Zone वर्ष 2015 तक नहीं बदला गया. फिर किम जोंग उन.. ने इस समय को अपने इतिहास के मुताबिक ठीक किया.

27 अप्रैल 2018 को जिस वक्त नॉर्थ और साउथ कोरिया के नेताओं की हंसती-मुस्कुराती तस्वीरें दुनिया देख रही थीं. उस वक्त किम जोंग उन थोड़े उदास थे. क्योंकि, जिस कमरे में बैठकर वो South Korea के राष्ट्रपति का इंतज़ार कर रहे थे, उसी कमरे की दीवार पर ये दोनों घड़ियां टंगी हुई थीं. Media रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, किम जोंग उन ने उस दिन ये कहा था, कि दीवार पर टंगी हुई घड़ियों में Seoul Time और Pyongyang Time देखकर उन्हें बहुत पीड़ा हुई. और उसी वक्त उन्होंने ये फैसला किया, कि दोनों देशों के रिश्तों को मज़बूत करने के लिए, घड़ियों का समय मिलाना ज़रुरी है.

North Korea की आधिकारिक समाचार एजेंसी KCNA के मुताबिक, किम जोंग उन ने South Korea के Time Zone के हिसाब से वक्त मिलाने के लिए, अपने देश की घड़ियों को 30 मिनट आगे करने का फैसला लिया. वहां की संसद ने भी South Korea के Time Zone को अपनाने पर अपनी मंज़ूरी दे दी थी. और अब से कुछ देर पहले दोनों देशों की घड़ियों का वक्त एक जैसा हो गया है. North Korea का समय भारत के मुकाबले 3 घंटे आगे चलता है. इसलिए वहां पर तारीख बदल चुकी है, वहां पर 5 मई की तारीख शुरू हो चुकी है. 

South Korea ने किम जोंग उन के इस फैसले की तारीफ की है और कहा है, कि इस प्रतीकात्मक कदम से दोनों देशों के रिश्ते और भी ज़्यादा मज़बूत होंगे. इसके लिए South Korea ने भी एक अहम फैसला लिया है. जिसके तहत, वो अपने सीमावर्ती इलाकों में North Korea के खिलाफ दुष्प्रचार के लिए इस्तेमाल किए जाने वाले Loudspeakers को हटा लेगा. इन दोनों ही देशों ने, Propaganda करने के लिए अपनी सरहदों पर सैकड़ों लाउडस्पीकर्स लगाए हुए हैं. लेकिन अब इस समस्या का समाधान भी निकाल लिया गया है.

Mumbai run into table-toppers with time running out

Chennai Super Kings: Beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets, beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs, beat Rajasthan Royals by 64 runs

Mumbai Indians: Lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 31 runs, lost to Rajasthan Royals by three wickets, beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 46 runs.

Big Picture

Since playing the tournament opener in Mumbai, the two most successful teams in IPL history have had contrasting journeys in the last 20 days. Table-toppers Chennai Super Kings have most bases covered and are dominating the league with only one loss so far whereas defending champions Mumbai Indians are languishing at the bottom with only one win to their name.

Mumbai's ride hasn't been as bad as Delhi Daredevils' but when they were bowled out for 87 by Sunrisers Hyderabad at home, they had moved one step closer to pressing the panic button. Two more losses and they will virtually be out of the playoffs race. But their next opponent is a team that has only become stronger in the last week. Super Kings' batting order looks solid, opening bowlers move the ball around, Dwayne Bravo delivers with bat and ball in the death overs, and MS Dhoni's six-hitting during his 70* off 34 against Royal Challengers Bangalore is surely not going to soothe any Mumbai bowler's nerves.

Mumbai's bowling has not stuttered much though. Their middle order has been the main weakness and even though individual efforts have stood out sporadically, the entire unit hasn't been able to come together to clinch the crucial moments, especially in the dying moments of their close losses. Mayank Markande continues to strangle the opposition, one of their top-order batsmen scores runs in nearly every game, Jasprit Bumrah doesn't leak too many runs, but something is still amiss. Mumbai need to plug their holes quickly because time is running out.

Who knows how different Mumbai's season could have been had they beaten Super Kings in the opening match. Mumbai had them at 118 for 8 in the 17th over after scoring 165 for 4 before Bravo turned Mumbai's music down and made them dance to his own tunes.

Strategy Punt

Mumbai need to make some changes, be it in personnel or shuffling of the batting order. Learning from their only win so far, they could open with Rohit Sharma, who scored a majestic 94 off 52 at No. 4 against Royal Challengers, but had effectively opened after they were 0 for 2 in the first over. Rohit's slow starts and late flourishes are not a secret anymore. His strike rate in the IPL Powerplays since 2015 is 127.3 so if Evin Lewis can do the hitting initially and Rohit later on, they may have a better chance to utilise his batting style.

Stats that matter

• Ambati Rayudu has scored 283 runs this season at a strike rate of 159 and average of 47.2. He needs 113 more runs to make this his most prolific IPL season. He also needs 84 runs to reach 4000 runs in T20s.

• Super Kings' economy rate in the middle overs stands at 8.57, only behind Rajasthan Royals' 8.59. Imran Tahir has been crucial in that phase with six wickets.

• Tahir has enjoyed bowling at the MCA Stadium in the IPL. The legspinner has 15 wickets from eight innings at the ground, with an average of 17 and economy rate of 8.2.

• Dwayne Bravo has an enviable record against two of Mumbai bowlers in T20s. He has scored 30 runs off 16 balls against Jasprit Bumrah and 40 off 18 balls against Mitchell McClenaghan.

• Expect Mustafizur Rahman to bowl as soon as Ravindra Jadeja comes out to bat. The allrounder has scored only 16 runs off 18 balls against him in all T20s, and has been dismissed four times.

• Kieron Pollard could draw inspiration from his record against Dwayne Bravo to turn his form around: 182 runs off 111 balls with a strike rate of 164.

Fantasy picks

Krunal Pandya and Shane Watson. Picking allrounders is the safest bet in fantasy for obvious reasons. Krunal has been the most economical Mumbai bowler (7.04) this season, has taken four catches and six wickets in 15 overs. He also bats at No. 5 nowadays, above Kieron Pollard and Hardik, which allows him time to score more runs. Watson has struck a century, boasts of a strike rate of 162 this season and is their joint second-highest wicket taker, with an economy rate of 8.23. He could well be one of the most valued allrounders this season.

Fletcher's five-for makes up for lost time

It was so cold at New Road that umpire Richard Illingworth wore gloves throughout a day from mid-November but Luke Fletcher provided a heart-warming story by taking a career-best five for 27.

The 29-year-old Nottinghamshire seamer missed the second half of last season with severe concussion after he was struck by a fierce return drive from Warwickshire's Sam Hain in a T20 match at Edgbaston.

Those who witnessed the incident feared that Fletcher might have sustained life-threatening injuries. It was typical of Fletcher, an affable character and a cult figure at Trent Bridge, that his first comment after suffering the blow was to ask how the ball was. The damage to Fletcher's head was so serious that he was not allowed to resume bowling until late December.

Fletcher used his enforced lay-off to improve his fitness and he has started the new season in good heart and fine form. Having taken six wickets in the match in last week's defeat by Yorkshire at Headingley, Fletcher filleted Worcestershire to claim his first five wicket haul since 2013.

"It's good to be back playing again. Missing half of last season was frustrating, particularly with the way things were going for me, but I can understand the reasons why I couldn't play again," Fletcher said.

"I had a lot of time to think about it and things I could work on during my time away from the game. Bowling was one of the last things I could do so I had to wait patiently for that but I did a lot of cycling up to Christmas.

"I was looking forward to coming back and thankfully it's going well for me."

Fletcher has often had to settle for providing dependable back-up to the likes of Stuart Broad and Jake Ball, but the roles were reversed here. Broad, playing his first match of the season, and Ball softened up Worcestershire by reducing them to three for three in the space of 12 balls when the match eventually got underway after two blank days.

Broad pinned Tom Fell LBW with his fourth ball but otherwise looked a little ring rusty in his four over opening spell from the Diglis End. When he switched to the New Road End, Broad found rhythm, pace and outswing which proved too much for tailenders Ed Barnard and Charlie Morris.

Ball struck with his fifth ball, when Daryl Mitchell was beaten by a full length delivery and again in his second over when Brett D'Oliveira obligingly prodded him to fourth slip.

After successive away defeats to Hampshire and Somerset, the last thing Worcestershire's batsmen needed was to face two members of England's seam attack from last winter's Ashes series on a pitch that had been under cover for two and under water only four weeks ago.

Fletcher exploited the favourable conditions intelligently - there was no need for a toss - although Worcestershire helped him towards only the fourth five wicket haul in 11 seasons. George Rhodes shouldered arms to his second ball which trimmed the off stump and Ben Cox was caught behind withdrawing his bat.

Joe Clarke and Travis Head staged a brief fightback in a fourth wicket stand of 65 with Clarke committed to attack from the start. But he played one big shot too many and was well taken by Steven Mullaney at second slip, diving in front of Riki Wessels at first, and Head went lbw when Fletcher went round the wicket to the left-hander.

Having made up for some of the lost time by dismissing Worcestershire before lunch, Nottinghamshire set about building a lead but they were forced to proceed with caution in deteriorating light.

A busy half century from Ross Taylor took them past Worcestershire's inadequate total before they lost three quick wickets. Bad light interrupted then halted play 11 overs early but by then Wessels and Tom Moores had put Nottinghamshire into a strong position from which they will expect Fletcher, Broad, Ball and Harry Gurney to bowl them to a two day victory.

Karnataka Election First Time In The Country Chunavana App To Be Use

बेंगलुरु.कर्नाटक विधानसभा चुनाव में चुनाव आयोग इलेक्शन से जुड़ी अहम जानकारी मुहैया कराने के लिए खास मोबाइल ऐप का इस्तेमाल करेगा। देश में अपनी तरह का यह पहला प्रयोग होगा। बुधवार को कर्नाटक रिमोट सेंसिंग एजेंसी ने चुनाव (इलेक्शन) ऐप लॉन्च किया। आयोग के मुताबिक, इससे राज्य के 5 करोड़ से ज्यादा मतदाताओं को पोलिंग बूथ, उम्मीदवारों और मतदान से जुड़ी अहम जानकारी मिलेगी। बता दें कि कर्नाटक की 224 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए 12 मई को वोट डाले जाएंगे और नतीजे 15 तारीख को आएंगे।

ऐप पर मिलेगा सभी मतदान केंद्रों का नक्शा

- न्यूज एजेंसी के मुताबिक, कर्नाटक के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी संजीव कुमार ने चुनाव ऐप लॉन्च करते हुए कहा कि यह मतदाताओं के बीच जागरुकता बढ़ाने के लिए सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी का बेहतर इस्तेमाल साबित होगा।

- चुनाव ऐप में कर्नाटक की सभी विधानसभा सीटों के अंतर्गत आने वाले 56 हजार 696 मतदान केंद्रों का नक्शा लोड किया गया है। इसके जरिए मतदाता अपना वोटर आईडी नंबर, मतदान केंद्र तक जाने का रास्ता और वहां लगी कतारों की जानकारी हासिल कर पाएंगे।

उम्मीदवारों की परफार्मेंस भी पता चलेगी

- इस ऐप के जरिए मतदाता अपने विधानसभा क्षेत्र के उम्मीदवार से जुड़ी अहम जानकारी जान सकते हैं। मसलन पिछले चुनावों में उम्मीदवारों की परफार्मेंस क्या थी और उन्हें कितने वोट मिले थे।

ऐप के साथ वेब पर भी मिलेगी जानकारी

- चुनाव ऐप के जैसे ही वेबसाइट kgis.ksrsac.in/election पर भी जानकारियां उपलब्ध रहेंगी। इसके लिए कर्नाटक एप्लीकेशन सेंटर ने व्यापक इंतजाम किए हैं। मतदाता चाहें तो साइट पर जाकर भी किसी विधानसभा क्षेत्र और उम्मीदवारों से जुड़ी जानकारियां हासिल कर सकते हैं।

मतगणना के वक्त भी अपडेट मिलेगा

- चुनाव आयोग ने वेब और ऐप को ऐसे डिजाइन कराया है कि मतगणना के वक्त भी लोगों को उम्मीदवारों को मिले वोटों के अपडेट मिलते रहेंगे। साथ ही ऐप में दिव्यांगों के लिए व्हीलचेयर बुक करने का ऑप्शन दिया गया है, ताकि वे मतदान केंद्र तक आसानी से पहुंच सकें।

Senate candidate promised to vote against GOP more than 20% of the time. She rarely ever did. – ThinkProgress

As a Congressional candidate back in 2014, Martha McSally (R-AZ) explicitly promised that she would vote against her party more than 20 percent of the time in Congress. She has not even come close.

McSally made the promise in an October 7, 2014 debate against then-Rep. Ron Barber (D). First, she attacked Barber’s claims of bipartisanship, suggesting that his record as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress was insufficient. “I don’t think it’s bipartisan when you say you voted against your party only 20 percent of the time,” she said. “If that’s what’s going on in our country, that’s what’s wrong with Washington, DC.”

The moderator then asked whether McSally, if elected, would vote against the GOP positions more than 20 percent of the time. “Absolutely,” she replied.

It is now clear that this was an empty promise. According to FiveThirtyEight, McSally has voted with Donald Trump fully 97.2 percent of the time. In October, the Arizona Republic called her “Arizona’s most reliable vote for [the] Trump agenda.” Now seeking the GOP nomination for retiring Sen. Jeff Flake’s (R) open seat, McSally even highlighted that quote in her campaign kickoff ad.

After making the now-broken bipartisanship pledge, McSally cited “equal pay for equal work” for women as an issue on which she disagreed with the GOP and one on which she would focus. More than three years into her House tenure, she has sponsored no bills dealing with that topic and has not signed on as a co-sponsor of the Fair Pay Act, the Paycheck Fairness Act, or even even two non-binding resolutions commemorating Equal Pay Day.

अलीगढ़: अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी में पाकिस्तानी संस्थापक मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना की तस्वीर को लेकर विवाद गहराता जा रहा है. विवाद गहराने के बाद मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना की तस्वीर यूनियन हॉल से हटा दी गई. बाद में यूनियन के सभी गेटों पर ताला जड़ दिया गया. किसी को अंदर आने-जाने से रोक दिया गया. यूनियन गेट पर ताला और जिन्ना की तस्वीर हटाए जाने को लेकर यूनियन के उपाध्यक्ष सज्जाद सुभान राथर ने कहा कि अभी सफाई का काम चल रहा है. सफाई की वजह से जिन्ना समेत कई और तस्वीरों को हटाया गया है. सफाई काम पूरा होते ही जिन्ना समेत सभी तस्वीरों को वापस अपनी जगह लगा दी जाएगी. जानकारी के मुताबिक बुधवार (2 मई) को भारत के पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति हामिद अंसारी को यूनियन की आजीवन सदस्य्ता दी जाएगी. इसी कार्यक्रम की वजह से यूनियन हॉल की सभी तस्वीरों को साफ किया गया था.

बता दें स्थानीय बीजेपी सांसद सतीष गौतम ने AMU के वाइस चांसलर को चिट्ठी लिखकर पूछा था कि क्या अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी में पाकिस्तानी संस्थापक मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना की तस्वीर लगी हुई है? अगर, जिन्ना की तस्वीर लगी हुई है तो किस विभाग में और किन कारणों से लगी है वह कारण बताएं. साथ में यह भी बताएं कि AMU में पाकिस्तानी संस्थापक मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना की तस्वीर का लगा होना कितना तार्किक है?

कृपया इस संबंध में संपूर्ण जानकारी प्राप्त कर मुझे अवगत कराने का कष्ट करें, साथ ही उन कारणों का भी उल्लेख करें जिनकी वजह से यह तस्वीर अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय में लगाने की मजबूरी बनी हुई है, क्योंकि संपूर्ण विश्व जानता है कि मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना भारत और पाकिस्तान के बंटवारे के मुख्य सूत्रधार थे और वर्तमान में भी पाकिस्तान द्वारा गैर जरूरी हरकतें लगातार जारी हैं. ऐेसे में जिन्ना की तस्वीर एएमयू में लगाना कितना तार्किक है.

जानकारी के मुताबिक अलीगढ़ यूनिवर्सिटी की यह परंपरा है कि जिन छात्रों को आजीवन सदस्यता प्रदान की जाती है, उनकी तस्वीर यूनियन हॉल में लगाई जाती है. 1938 में यूनिवर्सिटी की तरफ से मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना को भी आजीवन सदस्यता दी गई थी. अब तक देश और विदेश के करीब 100 लोगों को छात्रसंघ की तरफ से आजीवन सदस्यता दी जा चुकी है. इन सभी लोगों की तस्वीर यूनियन हॉल में लगी हुई है.

काइरो, प्रेट्र। अभिनेत्री प्रियंका चोपड़ा ने जॉर्डन की राजधानी अम्मान में सीरियाई शरणार्थियों के शिविर का दौरा किया। शरणार्थियों की दुर्दशा पर चिंता जताते हुए उन्होंने कहा, 'दुनिया को उनके नम्रता और लचीलेपन से सीख लेनी चाहिए।'

मालूम हो कि 2011 के बाद सीरिया में शुरू हुए गृहयुद्ध में करीब पचास लाख सीरियाई नागरिकों ने अपना देश छोड़कर आसपास के देशों जैसे लेबनान, इराक, मिश्र, तुर्की और जॉर्डन आदि में आश्रय लिया था। यूनिसेफ की वैश्विक सद्भावना दूत प्रियंका ने 1,80,000 सीरियाई शरणार्थियों वाले शहर अम्मान में बच्चों से मुलाकात की और उनकी तस्वीरें इंस्टाग्राम पर साझा की।

अभिनेत्री ने कहा, यह कल्पना करना मुश्किल है कि आपसे एक ही पल में सब कुछ छिन सकता है। सीरियाई शरणार्थी परिवारों से मिलने के बाद हमें उनके लिए एक सुरक्षित जगह की तलाश है ताकि वे सामान्य जीवन बिता सकें। प्रियंका ने निर्वासित बच्चों के साथ खेलते हुए एक छोटा वीडियो भी इंस्टाग्राम पर पोस्ट किया।
